Arc Chute

Useful alternative to traditionally used asbestos products for electrical insulation at high temperatures (on locomotive contactors, passenger and cargo wagons, etc.)

The material we use for these products is calcium silicate, in different grades, which thermal resists the electrical arc formation, offering a very good insulation. The electric arc is directly proportional to the current the charge demands. These arcs produce substances that spoil contacts and produce therefore corrosion, damages and inadequate use of mechanical characteristics, in addition to the high temperatures developed during the arc formation. It is essential to extinguish the arc rapidly and effectively: that’s what our arch chutes succeed, the rupture arc enlargement, division and final extinguishing.
